I’m Charlotte Rose Beers - curator, photographer, and founder of Her Exposure. I'm also a young mum navigating creativity, motherhood, and community-building on the Gold Coast. I created Her as a heartfelt response to the gaps I saw in the photography world - spaces that still often overlook women, especially in film.

There's a raw, honest magic to film photography.

It’s slow.

Intentional.

Emotional.

And I believe women deserve more platforms to explore and exhibit that kind of artistry.

The Story Behind Her Exposure

The spark for Her Exposure was lit in early 2024 during a trip to Japan with my partner and our baby. Wandering through galleries and camera shops, I was struck by how male-dominated even the most progressive creative spaces felt. I knew then that I wanted to carve out something different—something built by women, for women.

What started as a small project highlighting female photographers in Australia has now grown into an international community. Through exhibitions, print magazines, and online curation, Her Exposure uplifts women artists from all over the world—sharing their stories, their photos, and their perspectives.

Her Vision

Her Exposure is more than a magazine. It’s a movement. A living, growing space where women photographers - whether seasoned or just starting - can feel seen, celebrated, and supported.

We’re creating something tangible:

• Seasonal print issues that champion emotion, vulnerability, and storytelling

• Pop-up exhibitions that bring work off the screen and onto walls

• Workshops and photo walks that nurture connection and collaboration
